Marcus Wade is an accomplished trade finance professional, entrepreneur and businessman with several decades of experience working in Europe (including Central & Eastern Europe), the UAE and across Africa. He is the founder of Wilben Trade Limited, a global merchant trading, commodities and procurement & supply company, with offices located in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.  

Marcus Wade started his career in 1997 working for London Forfaiting Company where, after a brief spell in operations, he joined the trading team supporting UK and Scandinavian exporters sell goods on credit terms to buyers in emerging markets. Between 2002 and 2014 he worked for some of the world’s foremost trade finance and commodity firms including Cargill and Noble Resources. At Cargill he was responsible for running bank relationships with institutions located in German speaking countries and Scandinavia. At Noble he established their Commodity Enhanced Finance division which specialised in creating liquidity and trade credit for companies and banks in emerging markets. With teams in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia he built the business from scratch to become one of the most prominent players in the market.

In 2014, Marcus Wade founded Wilben Trade. Wilben Trade is a global merchant trading, commodities and procurement & supply company with world class credit capabilities. It provides anything from single item supply to turn-key solutions including post-delivery credit. From its humble beginnings, Wilben has grown to become a multi-billion dollar revenue company with presence across three continents. The company is headquartered in Dubai, UAE.

 Throughout his career, Marcus Wade has established himself as a trusted leader in trade, commodities and financial sectors, with a specific expertise on emerging markets.   

Marcus Wade holds a degree in Law from King’s College London. He speaks English, German and Norwegian.
